The Chicken Tikka Masala fries involves a combination of spiced, creamy richness of chicken tikka masala with crispy and delightful texture. This dish is perfect for those who loves potatoes. Here is a step-by-step recipe for 2 servings.

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken Tikka:
  • 300g boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1/2 cup yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika or Kashmiri red chili powder for color

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 inch ginger, minced

  • Salt for taste

  • For the Masala Sauce:
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, pureed

  • 1/2 cup cream or coconut milk for a dairy-free option

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh cilantro, for garnishing

  • For the Fries:
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fries

  • Oil for frying

  • Salt for taste

Directions

  • Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, paprika (or Kashmiri red chili), garlic, ginger, and salt. Add chicken pieces, marinate properly, and leave it while preparing the masala Sauce.

  • Cook the Chicken: Take chicken pieces & put them in the Skewer, and grill them on a preheated grill for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn the skewers and cook until the chicken has slightly charred on the edges. You can also bake them in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 20-25 minutes. Set aside.

  • Make the Masala Sauce: Put oil in the pan over medium heat. Add onions & fry the onions until golden. Add the tomato paste, garam masala, chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Cook on low heat until oil separates from the sides.
Add the grilled chicken pieces to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in the cream or coconut milk and cook for another 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning.

  • Prepare the Fries: Put oil in a deep fryer or pan to 180°C (356°F). Fry the potato fries until golden and crispy. Remove the extra from the fries by placing the tissue paper on it.

  • Assemble the Dish: Put the crispy fries on a serving platter. Pour the chicken tikka masala over the fries. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

  • Serve: Enjoy your Chicken Tikka Masala Fries hot, paired with a side of mint chutney or raita for dipping.
